1940 - 2016 Mr. John Sinopoli, 75, of Dalton, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Timberlyn East Nursing and Rehabilitation in Great Barrington. Born on December 2, 1940 the son of Bruno and Natalie Zuccaro Sinopoli, he attended Pittsfield Schools. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the Coast Guard for four years then enlisted in the Air Force for eight years. Mr. Sinopoli owned the former Morningside Deli on Tyler St. from 1978 to 1982. He then opened Giovanni's Restaurant on Rt. 7 with his brother in law, Ron Monteleone. He later worked as a salesman for Wohrles Foods, retiring in 2012. He enjoyed cooking and doing yardwork. He was also enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of the Boston Bruins, New York Giants and the New England Patriots. He is survived by his wife, the former Donna Icardi, who he married on January 28, 1977. He also leaves his children, Gino Sinopoli and Ricco Sinopoli, both of Dalton and a daughter, Toni Sinopoli Webb of Grants Pass, Oregon; a brother, Pete Sinopoli and his wife Karen and two sisters, Judy Tatro and Tina Monteleone, both of Pittsfield and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward Sinopoli, who died in 1964. FUNERAL NOTICE: There will be no formal funeral service for John, but the family would like to invite friends to the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 3 to 6 p.m. for a time to express condolences and share memories with John's family.
