John P. Sniezek

1923 - 2013 ADAMS John Peter Sniezek, 90, of 11 Simon Ave., on died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Williamstown Commons.

He was born in Adams on March 5, 1923, a son of Stanley and Mary (Bednarz) Sniezek. He attended schools in Adams.

Mr. Sniezek was an Army veteran of World War II, having served until receiving his honorable discharge on Nov. 18, 1945.

Mr. Sniezek worked as a welder in the power transformer division of General Electric Co., Pittsfield.

He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. He was a longtime member of the Adams Lodge of Elks.

His wife, the former Mildred Koczela, whom he married May 1, 1948, died Feb. 18, 2013.

He is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Ziarnik, and her husband, Richard, of Adams; one step-grandson, Jason Ziarnik; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Coleson Ziarnik, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Stanley, Joseph, Frank and Edmond Sniezek, and by three sisters, Sophie Dziegiel, Helen Sniezek, and Katherine Litkos.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be Tuesday, April 16, at 9 a.m. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
