John William "Jack" Carter III

1947 - 2012 Obituary Condolences
PITTSFIELD - John "Jack" William Carter, III., 65, of 115 Sherwood Drive, Pittsfield, died Thursday, May 10, 2012, at his home.
Born in Worcester on April 17, 1947, the son of John W. Carter, Jr., and Dorothy Brigham Carter, he attended Pittsfield schools, graduated from Cornwall Academy, and attended Ithaca College and Berkshire Community College.
He had served in the Reserves.
Mr. Carter was employed in sales. He had worked at the former Lindsay Chevrolet, the former Slattery Buick-Opal-Jeep, and for Haddad Motors. He was last employed by radio station WUPE for sixteen years.
He enjoyed Corvettes and had been president of Corvettes of Berkshire County since 1975. He also enjoyed going to car shows and Cruise Night events.
He enjoyed traveling, as well.
Mr. Carter leaves his wife, the former Linda Dimanche, whom he married November 15, 1969.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Jay C. Carter, and a granddaughter, Tara.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for John "Jack" William Carter, III., will be held Wednesday, May 16, at 11 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Arthur Kaufman, Chaplain at Berkshire Medical Center, officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Memory of Mr. Carter may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
