Joseph J. Troiano

1929 - 2015 PITTSFIELD Mr. Joseph J. Troiano, 86 of 42 Elmhurst Ave. passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Springside Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center. He was born in Lee on February 10, 1929 a son of the late Alphonso and Mary (Vitale) Troiano. He attended Lee schools. Joseph began his career with Bricklayer's and Allied Craftsmen Local #20 and for 55 years was the proprietor of Joseph J. Troiano Mason Contractor and he retired in 2000. He was a Communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a former Communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. He enjoyed golf, bocce, walking and spending time with his grandchildren and attending Mass regularly. His wife, the former Norma A. Tonoli, died November 15, 2015 and they were married on January 31, 1953. Survivors include his three sons, Joseph A. Troiano of Sonoma County, CA; Thomas J. Troiano and his wife, Tracy of New Lebanon, NY; John M. Troiano of Pittsfield; his daughter, Catherine F. Anderson of Pittsfield; his brother, Peter Troiano of Housatonic; his two sisters, Mary Castellini of Lee and Fanny Mole and her husband, Tim of Lee; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Maryann Girard who died on December 20, 1997; two brothers, John and Ugo Troiano and four sisters, Suntina Troiano, Yolanda Pompi, Helen Julieano and Lola Morrison. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 9a.m. from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
