Josephine M. Belini

1923 - 2013 PITTSFIELD Josephine M. Belini, 89, formerly of 12 Spencer St., died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Providence Care Center of Lenox, where she had resided for two years.

Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 18, 1923, a daughter of James and Marianna (Carchedi) Speranzo, she attended Pittsfield schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1941.

She was employed at the former Friendly Ice Cream on Elm Street for 29 years, retiring in 1990.

Josephine was a former communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a member of its Ladies Guild. She was presently a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

She enjoyed cooking, playing cards bowling, and spending time with family.

Her husband, Albert Belini, whom she married June 21, 1947, died April 13, 1989.

Survivors include a son, David Belini of Pittsfield; a daughter, Joanne LaRochelle and her husband, Peter, of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, Kristy, Marc, Jaclyn and Ryan LaRochelle; a great-granddaughter, Marki LaRochelle, and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews.

Josephine was predeceased by two brothers, Nicholas Speranzo and Stephen Speranzo and by a sister, Mary Grace Teti.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME will be Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Peter M. Naranjo II, Parochial Vicar, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires or to Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield.

The family would like to thank the staff at Providence Care Center of Lenox for their kindness, love, and support shown to Josephine. The family is eternally grateful.
