1929-2014 NORTH ADAMS Mrs. Josephine Maria Romano Magnifico, 84, of 1 Hermon Ave., died Monday, June 2, 2014 at North Adams Commons. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on October 14, 1929, daughter of Frank and Helen Valenti Romano. She attended schools in Brooklyn and graduated from Drury High School in North Adams. She also attended the McCann Technical High School graduate program. Josephine worked at North Adams Regional Hospital for 25 years until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. She enjoyed reading and trips to Foxwoods. Josephine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Paul G. Magnifico, who she married on April 14, 1951; one son, Robert Magnifico of Newtown, Pa.; four daughters, Frances Naramore of Barre, Vt., Maria Magnifico of Weymouth, Mass., Diana Murphy of Haverhill, Mass., and Nancy Magnifico of Dalton. She also leaves 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Two brothers are deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Josephine Magnifico will be Friday, June 6, 2014 at 8:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS 521 West Main St. North Adams followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.
