Josephine A. Sacchetti

1922 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Josephine A. (Malally) Sacchetti, 92, widow of Thomas A. Sacchetti, entered eternal life at Hillcrest Commons on Saturday, July 26, 2014. Born in the Housatonic section of Great Barrington on Feb. 27, 1922, she was the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Murray) Malally. She was educated in Great Barrington schools. She and Tom were married in Corpus Christi Church, in Housatonic, on Oct. 5, 1940, and they enjoyed over 65 years of happiness together. Primarily a homemaker, in later years, she was employed by both Canteen Services and Chemex Corporation where she became a supervisor in the Assembly department. She enjoyed all forms of dancing, from ballroom to country and even line dancing with her beloved husband and dance partner. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Church. She is survived by her children Carol Broyles (Bruce) of Chicopee, and Thomas Sacchetti, Sr. (Joan), Jodie McCarthy (Michael) and Greg Sacchetti (Sue Ellen), all of Pittsfield, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a brother, George Malally of Azusa, Calif. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas Sacchetti, Jr., four brothers and three sisters. FUNERAL NOTICE: Family and friends are invited to attend the Liturgy of Christian Burial for Josephine at St. Ann Church, 132 Main St., Lenox, on Thursday, July 31, at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. C. J. Waitekus, pastor. A calling hour, beginning at 10 a.m., will be held, at the church prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cameron House Assisted Living Center Activity Fund or to the , in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
