1957 - 2013 HOUSATONIC Julie M. Bunce, 55, a lifelong resident of Housatonic, a beautiful village in the Berkshires, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington. She was born July 3, 1957, the daughter of Frederick J. Bunce and the late Julia A. Rathbun. Julie was a veteran of the Army MP Corps, earned a Bachelor's of Education from UMASS Amherst where she was a member of Kappa Delta PI and Alpha Sigma Lamba Honor societies. She most recently worked in the Cardiology Department at Fairview Hospital. She had a passion for life, a love for reading, animals (especially her furry cat friend, Jack), and the Boston Red Sox. Julie shared her passion for the Lord by being a devoted Minister of Prayer at Marian Fathers. She is survived by her father, Frederick J. Bunce of Housatonic; her sister, Susan M. Bunce of Odenton, Md.; her sister, Mary E. Booton, and her husband, Ian Booton, of Great Barrington; her nephew, Richard V. Cardillo of Pittsfield, and her niece, Dana M. Cardillo of Lee. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Bunce, who died May 5, 1971. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be Friday, May 3, at 10 a.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington, conducted by Pastor Norman Lee, Christian Faith Felllowship in Lanesborough. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Great Barrington.
