June M. Killackey

1958-2013 PITTSFIELD June M. Killackey, 55, formerly of 126 High Street, Pittsfield, died Friday, February 22, 2013, at Hillcrest Commons.

Born in Pittsfield on February 19, 1958, a daughter of Janet Betters Saul and the late Richard Saul, she was educated in Pittsfield schools.

Mrs. Killackey had been a cashier at the former Hills Department Store and had been a waitress at one time, as well. She retired due to ill health.

She had been a member of Pilgrim Memorial Church.

Mrs. Killackey enjoyed taking drives with her late husband, visiting with family, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed being at the lake and the ocean, as well as bingo, watching television, and cooking.

Her husband, Norman J. Killackey, whom she married February 24, 1979, died November 18, 2004.

Besides her mother, Mrs. Killackey is survived by her daughter, Renee Petell of Pittsfield; a step-son, Frederick Saul, of Pittsfield, three grandchildren, Joshua Petell, Brandon Petell, and Alyssa Petell; three brothers, Richard Saul of Oregon, Glen Saul of Pittsfield, and George Saul of Pittsfield; six sisters, Janet McNeil of Pittsfield, Patricia Saul of Pittsfield, Karen Messer of Adams, Valerie Hallock of Peru, Diane Zwingelstein of Pittsfield, and Brenda Manns of North Adams.

June's family would also like to express their thanks and appreciation to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, the nurses at Hillcrest Commons and BMC 5 South that took excellent care of June during her illness.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for June M. Killackey will be held Wednesday, February 27, at 12 noon at DERY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Sigmund Sadzinski officiating. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her daughter, Renee Petell, to help defray final expenses in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
