Karen Krutiak

1941 - 2014 ADAMS Karen A. Krutiak, 73, of 3 Tracie Avenue, died on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at her home, with her family by her side. Born in North Adams, on Aug. 13, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Karem J. and Mary (Duprey) Ziter. She attended North Adams schools, including St. Joseph's School and Drury High School. For many years, she was the President of the former D. Krutiak Construction Co. Inc. of Adams. She leaves her husband of 54 years, David L. Krutiak, whom she married on May 7, 1960 in St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams; her cherished daughter, Jennifer Krutiak, at home; and two precious grandchildren, Danielle and Adam Krutiak, children of her late son, David T. Krutiak. She also leaves a brother, Frank Ziter and his wife, Janet, of Adams; her sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Ogden and her husband, William, of Cheshire; Jean Raymond and her husband, Charles, of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; and Linda Brown of Newburyport; her brothers-in-law, John Krutiak and his wife, Janet, of Hinsdale, and Peter Krutiak of Cheshire; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved son, David Todd "Opie" Krutiak, who was the owner of the DTK Construction Co.; and her brother, Ernest Ziter of Savoy. In honoring Karen's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Memorial donations may be made to the Adams Ambulance Service, 185 Columbia St. Adams, MA 01220.
