Katherine A. Crine

1930 - 2014 SHEFFIELD Mrs. Katherine A. Crine, 84, of Sheffield Egremont Road passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014 at her home in Sheffield following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on Mar. 5, 1930 in Mattoon, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Harry C. and Helen Guyette Stoner. Katherine married her husband, the late Richard F. Crine, Sr. on Sept. 10, 1956 in Great Barrington, MA. Mrs. Crine attended the United Methodist Church in Great Barrington. She retired from Becton Dickinson in Canaan, Conn. in the mid 1990's. She also worked as a school bus driver for Ormsbee Bus Co. for many years. Katherine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent countless hours caring for her family and was involved in many of their activities growing up, including Camp Fire Girls. She is survived by her three daughters, Melody Bliss and her husband, James of Ashley Falls, Mary Wells and her husband, Douglas of Sheffield, and Betsy Gordon and her husband, John of Canaan, Conn. She also leaves two sons, Richard Crine, Jr. and William Crine and his wife, Patricia all of Sheffield, as well as eight grandchildren Joshua and Nicole Bliss, Matthew and Kimberly Wells, Nolan Gordon, and Winter, Rachel and Zachery Crine and one great grandchild, Jacob Bliss. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Richard F. Crine, Sr. on January 14, 2007 and her brother, Richard Stoner who died in the early 1980's. FUNERAL NOTICE: A service celebrating the life of the late Katherine A. Crine will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington, MA, conducted by the Rev. Chuck Young, Chaplain with Hospice Care in the Berkshires. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
