1923 - 2015 LENOX Kenneth Walter Hamberg, 92, died Thursday at his home at the Cameron House. Born in Pittsfield March 9, 1923, the son of the late Walter and Bessie Vogel Hamberg, he was raised in Pittsfield where he was a 1940 graduate of Pittsfield High School. After graduating high school, Mr. Hamberg worked as a Property Administrator at General Electric for 44 years until his retirement in 1985. He spent his time doing wood working and making furniture. He also was an avid reader and loved watching sports, especially the Boston Red Sox. He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Lenox. His wife, Eleanor V. Jerome Hamberg, whom he married May 5, 1945 at St. Ann's Church, died June 24, 2008. He is survived by two sons: Kenneth E. and his wife, Deborah of Boston and their two children Amanda and Michael , and Stephen J. Hamberg of Lenox and his three children, Kimberly, Melissa and Jessalyn; two daughters; Karen A. Phillips and her husband Earl of Pittsfield and their three children Lisa, Todd and Barry, and Mary-Jo Noonan and her husband John of Amesbury, MA, and their three children Kathleen, Emily and Colleen; and Jeanne's two children Audrey and Gregory,and son-in-law David Prior of Rutland, VT. He also leaves 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Besides his wife and parents, Kenneth is pre-deceased by a daughter, Jeanne Prior and his sister Eleanor Merritt. The funeral of Mr. Kenneth W. Hamberg of Lenox who died September 24, 2015 will be Monday, October 5th with calling hours from 8:30-10:30 at the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Ann's Church celebrated by the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Ann's Church or to the Lenox Library, both in care of the funeral home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
