Kenneth Robert Keiper

1947 - 2014 MANNING SC Kenneth Robert Keiper passed away peacefully at the age of 67 on Friday, Dec. 12 with his family by his side at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina. A son of Barbara Elsie Meiers Keiper and the late Robert Vincent Keiper, Kenneth was born January 27, 1947 in Pittsfield, Mass. Kenneth graduated from Wahconah Regional High School in 1965 and received a B.S. in Business Administration from American International College in Springfield, Mass. in 1972. Upon graduating he was hired by Crane & Company, headquartered in Dalton, Mass., where he spent 35 years in a variety of management roles. Kenneth was a US Army veteran, having served in Vietnam, a former board member of the Berkshire County Chapter of the American Red Cross, and a past Massachusetts certified assessor serving the town of Washington. In his free time he enjoyed travel, cooking, and entertaining friends and family. In retirement he was an avid car enthusiast and a member of the Players Course golf club at Wyboo in South Carolina. Kenneth is survived by Mary Jo Wittig Keiper, his wife of 45 years; his son, Andrew Keiper and daughter-in-law, Kara Barbalunga Keiper, of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, Sophia and Matthew Keiper both of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Paul Keiper of Mass., and Roy Keiper of Conn.; and two sisters, Diane Duquette and Barbara Viens of Mass.
