1953 - 2014 LEE Krzysztof P. Sekowski, 60, died Sunday at his home on East Center Street in Lee. He was born on Dec. 14, 1953, in Nysa, Poland, the son of Kazimierz and Czeslawa Raczy Sekowski. He attended schools in Europe and moved to the United States in 1979. He lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., and worked as a waiter and then a doorman at the Swiss Center in New York City. He moved to the Berkshires in 1987 and worked at Rising Paper as a beater operator for 20 years. He opened "Marias European Delights," first in Great Barrington and then in Pittsfield, which he owned and operated with his wife, the former Maria Gierlach, whom he married on Jan. 25, 1983. He enjoyed camping and going on family vacations and especially on cruises with his family. Krzysztof is survived by his mother, Czeslawa of Poland; his wife, Maria of Lee; a son, Robert Sekowski of Boston; three daughters, Anne Bishop of Pittsfield, Agnieszka Czeczot and her husband, Wlodek of Ringwood, N.J., and Dorothy Sekowski of Honolulu, Hawaii, and his four grandchildren, Brianna, Leejay, Daniel and Patrick. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Lee with cremation to follow. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the KELLY FUNERAL HOME.
