Laureen A. Cure

1943-2012 STEPHENTOWN Laureen A. Mitchell Cure, 69 (AKA "Nani", "Sis" & "Birdie") of Route 22 died suddenly at her residence on Tuesday, August 28th.

Born August 21, 1943 in Pittsfield, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Anton and Catherine Hadsell Mitchell. Raised in Hancock, Mass., she resided in New Lebanon for over 15 years and the last three years in Stephentown. "Birdie" was of the Roman Catholic faith and a graduate of St. Joseph's Catholic High School in Pittsfield.

After raising her family, "Nani" worked for the last 23 years at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield in Central Service Sterile Processing retiring last month. She enjoyed gardening and being outside. "Sis" loved cooking, eating and traveling with her family. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her two children Joseph M. (Roxanne) Cure of Stephentown, Donna M. (Timothy) Roden of New Lebanon, grandchildren Brian, Daniel and Catherine Roden; Nicole Cure and Saren Volker; and a brother Bernard (Bonnie) Mitchell of St. Louis, Mo.

She was predeceased by a brother Kirk Mitchell.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43 Stephentown where Rev. John Close will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the family lot in Hancock Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home for visitation on Saturday starting at Noon until the start of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stephentown Rescue Squad in loving memory of Laureen A. Cure.
