Lena A. Codogni 1919 - 2012 READSBORO, VT Lena A. (Vicari) Codogni, 92, of 116 East Main St. Readsboro, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at North Adams Regional Hospital. She was born in North Adams on May 31, 1919, daughter of Paul and Olympia (Andreatta) Vicari. She attended North Adams schools and graduated from the Drury High School. Lena was primarily a homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Lena loved being at home; cooking for her family; tending her garden, and knitting for the area church bazaars. She was a communicant of St. Joachim's Church and a member of its St. Anne's Society. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Readsboro Post #29 American Legion. She was the widow of Peter J. Codogni, who died on July 7, 2006. They were married on Sep. 1, 1947. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Bushika, and her husband, James, of Stamford, VT; and one son, Richard Codogni, and his wife, Carolyn, of Readsboro; five grandchildren, Adam Codogni and Caraline Codogni of Readsboro, Emilie Codogni of Boston; Daryl Bushika and his wife, Heidi, of Schodack, NY; and Wesley Bushika, and his wife, Pia of Douglas, MA; five great-grandchildren, Mia, Jenna, Sophia, Carla, and Jocelyn; one sister, Sarah Tomasini of Adams, MA and nieces and nephews. One brother and one sister, Alfred Vicari and Dalia Zappula, are deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Lena Codogni will be celebrated Friday, May 4, 2012, at 11 AM in St. Joachim's Church in Readsboro, VT. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Readsboro American Legion; St. Anne's Society of St. Joachim's Church; or the Readsboro Fire Dept.
