1913 - 2015 PITTSFIELD Mrs. Lena (Blair) Pitman, 101, of Melbourne Place, 140 Melbourne Rd. died Monday Jan. 19, 2015 at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center. She was born in North Adams on June 15, 1913, daughter of Albert and Amanda (Lajeuenesse) Blair. She attended North Adams Schools. Lena lived with her husband in Pawtucket, R.I. for many years. They travelled together around the country since he trained thoroughbred race horses. Lena was an excellent piano player and gave lessons. She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church and a member of Le Cercle Francais. She was the widow of Arthur Pitman who died on Dec. 7, 1998. She was the last of her immediate family and is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Twelve brothers and sisters are deceased including Clara Blair Rivers, Helen Blair Hervieux, Sylvia Blair, Bella Blair; Victor, Robert, Dennis, Theodore, Leo, and William Blair, and two who died in infancy. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Lena Pitman will be Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at 10 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Elder Services of Berkshire County in care of the funeral home.
