Leon Gage

1938 - 2014 OTIS Leon Robert "Bob" Gage, 75, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014 at his home. Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 15, 1938, he was the son of Leon and Gladys Nickerson Gage. Bob was educated in Lee Schools and worked for Abby and Sons as a Truck Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator. He continued working for 22 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority in Blandford, where everyone called him "Uncle Bob", retiring in 2009. Bob and his wife, the former Alice Martin, recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on July 14, 2014. He enjoyed keeping busy by cutting firewood and building stone walls, fishing, flying and taking day trips in the car with his wife. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by two sons; Christen Robert Gage of South Daytona, Fla. and Paul Leon Gage of Otis, one brother, Gary A. Gage and his wife, Robin, of Chicopee, and two sisters, Patricia Losaw and her husband, Howard, of East Lee, and Marie Stanard and her husband, Noel, of Lee, as well as many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service for Leon "Bob" Gage will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Otis Cemetery, Otis, Mass. There are no calling hours.
