Leroy B. Cary

1923-2014 NORTH ADAMS Leroy Bertram Cary, 90, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, in Florida. Born in North Adams on October 10, 1923, the son of Arthur L. and Blanche Darling Cary, he was educated in North Adams schools and was a graduate of Drury High School. He was a World War II veteran, who served with the Navy, from March 1943 to January 1946. Mr. Cary was employed by General Electric Company where he was a drafting manager. He retired in 1983 with 37 years service. Mr. Cary leaves his wife, the former Julia Locasio, whom he married in 1959. He is also survived by a son, Harold R. Cary, of Downers Grove, Illinois; a daughter, Nancy B. Ingram of Woodstock, Georgia; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth Bennett, Emily Bennett, Sarah Starkey, and Nicolas Cary. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Leroy Bertram Cary will be held Saturday, July 12, at 10 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield, with Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor of St. Charles Church, officiating. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
