Linda Jayko

1947 - 2015 PITTSFIELD Linda L. Jayko, 67, of Vivian Ave, passed away on Jan. 18, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Apr. 28, 1947 in Pittsfield, the daughter of Edward M. and Geraldine L. Hatch Guay. Linda attended Manassas High School in Manassas, VA and obtained her hair styling certificate from the LaBaron Hair Dressing Academy. Linda was a hairdresser for 44 years, the owner of Berkshire Hair Design from 1984 to 1992 and retired in 1993. Following her retirement she was the hairdresser for Wellington Funeral Home. For five years she was also employed as a school crossing guard in Pittsfield. She was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Linda enjoyed gardening, baking, doing crafts, going on day trips to casinos, when her children were younger she was active in fundraisers for the Cub Scouts. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Jayko, whom she married Feb. 5, 1966, her daughter, Michelle J. Jayko of Pittsfield, sons, Matthew T. Jayko of Cheshire, Anthony S. Jayko of Pittsfield and grandchildren Nicolas, Thomas, Tyler, Olivia and Lillian. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services for Mrs. Linda L. Jayko will be held Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter Gregory pastor, officiating. Following cremation burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
