Linda Marie Burchaleski PITTSFIELD Linda Marie Burchaleski, 61, of Fort Myers, Fla., passed away on Mother's Day, May 13, 2012, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends. She was a fighter to the end.Linda was educated in Berkshire County schools and lived with her family in Pittsfield for many years before moving to Florida. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her care for other people, which were demonstrated to the very end of her life. She worked in the healthcare field for most of her career and was loved and enjoyed by co-workers and clients alike. Linda's treasures were her children and her grandchildren, and her very special furry friends, Celeste, Charlie and Daphne. She leaves her three children, Cheri (husband Mark) who live in England and her son, Chris, and daughter, Lisa, who were her caregivers throughout her illness. They and friends, Tami and Trish, attended to her every need and kept her sense of humor intact. She also leaves her grandchildren, Darren and Annalisha of Florida, and Christany, Kaiden and Landen of England. She is survived by sisters, Sharon Shepard-Ballen (husband Bill) of Pittsfield, Karen Webb (husband Jim) and brother, Timothy McCourt of Florida, as well as her nieces, Abby Shepard, who gave her aunt kind and loving care throughout her illness and was right by her side to the end, and Sherry Rennick (husband Joe) and their children, Joey, Andrew, Justin and Joshua of Michigan. The sisters have many fond memories of "sleepovers" at the beach where they shared childhood and family memories. Linda's recollections could make you laugh until you cried. She will be remembered and very much missed. Linda was predeceased by both parents and an infant son, and very good friend Arlene.
