Lizette Grace Jung Borer von Gal
1920-2013 Lizette Grace Jung Borer von Gal was born in Brooklyn, NY March 17th 1920. For many years she believed the St.Patrick's Day Parade was for her.
On Monday July 29th Lizette passed away peacefully and contented knowing she lived her life every day to the fullest.
Wife to the late Harold Wilbur Borer and Donald Reed von Gal survived by: six children, Darcy Fulton, Lee Hoellman, Edwina von Gal, Jodie von Gal, Reed von Gal and Frederick von Gal; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and a long list of nieces and nephews.
Raised on Flatbush Avenue she graduated from NYU having gone there on three sports scholarships. Her life spanned historically extraordinary times and she had her fingers in every part. She was social, political, nature enthusiast, a supporter of the arts and above all loved her motherhood. She took on many as her "other children" and loved each in her uniquely spirited and enthusiastic way. There are thousands of stories generated by her life as she made a far reaching impression throughout her life. Her extensive and prolific style left us breathless and inspired to be better people.
Lizette raised her children in Brewster, NY, moved on to live and expand in Ancram, NY, and then settled into a life she loved at Kimball Farms in Lenox, where she found great friends, a stimulating environment and a caring home. She wanted everyone to know that she loved her life and all who she had a chance to meet, love and work with. ZZ will be remembered.
