1938 - 2014 ADAMS Mrs. Lois Jean Olivia (Swanson) Sweener, 76, of 3 Myrtle St., died on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 at Williamstown Commons. She was born in Springfield, on Feb. 15, 1938, a daughter of the late Robert and Irene (Miller) Swanson and was raised by her foster parents, the late Robert and Marion Conlin. She attended schools in Williamstown and graduated from the former Williamstown High School. Lois last worked for Walmart in North Adams and had worked at C.H. McCann Technical High School, North Adams, Menty's Computers in Adams and as a Home Health Aide for many years. She was a member of the former St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Adams and had also been a Communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II, Adams. She enjoyed taking cruises, trips to the casino and playing bingo. She was very family oriented and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Lewis R. Sweener, whom she married on May 27, 1977; one son, Robert Monette and his wife, Debbie of Bennington, four daughters; Linda Sirois and her husband, Al of Leominster, Diane Giroux of Rawlins, WY, Donna Monette of Adams and Michele Carlow and her fiance, Kevin Aubin of Adams, two step-sons; Steven Sweener and his wife, Debbie of Dalton and Michael Sweener and his wife, Michalene of Pittsfield, one brother, Robert Swanson of South Carolina, four sisters; Joan McPhail of Springfield, Carol Mourad of Kingston, NH, Linnea Mabb of Muncy, PA, and Roberta Taylor of Porters Corners, NY, 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Cooney, her grandson, Scott Monette and by two brothers, Carl and Wayne Swanson and by a sister, Lola Swanson. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Monday, Dec. 15, at 10 a.m. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
