1930 - 2014 CHESHIRE Lorraine Filiere, 84, formerly of 130 Furnace Hill Rd., passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 at the Springside Nursing Center in Pittsfield. Born in Adams on March 26, 1930, daughter of the late Harry and Sarah Boisvert Beauchemin she attended Adams schools and was a graduate of the former Adams High School with the class of 1948. Lorraine first became employed with the Adams Free Library, after which she, with her husband, operated the former Filiere's Florist Shop in Adams. Lorraine was great lover of dogs, besides also working for a local Pittsfield vetinarian, she was the animal control officer in Cheshire for several years. She enjoyed reading. Her husband, Leo Filiere, whom she married on Mar. 31, 1951, died Jan. 29, 2000. She is survived by a brother, Norbert H. Beauchemin and his wife, Mary of Southington. Conn., and several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Lorraine will take place Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 at 12 p.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire, celebrated by the Rev. David Raymond Pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. There are no calling hours. Donations in her memory can be made to the Heifer International Inc. in care of the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St.,Adams, who is in charge of arrangements.
