Lorraine Rozon Fletcher

1928 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Lorraine M. Rozon Fletcher, age 86, of 441 Crane Ave. Apt. 1, died Saturday morning at the Berkshire Medical Center. She was born in Pittsfield, June 2, 1928 at the former House of Mercy Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Alberta Mae Walden Rozon. She attended the local schools and was a 1946 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Continuing her education, she was a 1949 graduate of the former Henry W. Bishop III Memorial School of Nursing here. Following graduation, she became employed at the former Pittsfield General Hospital until 1955. She then became employed as a nurse at the Hillcrest Hospital until 1961, returning there in 1967 till she retired from nursing in 1990. In between her years of nursing, she became employed with the City of Pittsfield and most recently, she was employed as a Senior Aide at the Gladys A. Brigham Center from 1999 until 2006. A communicant of St. Marks Church, she married John Herbert Fletcher Sept. 5, 1953. He died Nov. 29, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Karen A. Barschdorf and her husband, Fred, of Pittsfield; and her son, Michael J. Fletcher and his wife, Bonnie, of Adams; her grandchildren, Erica L. Roccabruna, Scott W. Barschdorf, Christina A. Brandow, Kate E. Fletcher, and Jeffrey R. Fletcher; her great-grandchildren, Arianna M. Green, Mya E. Brandow, Javon Brandow, Shane P. and Evan J. Roccabruna; her sister-in-law,Elizabeth Rozon; and a daughter-in-law, Patti L. Fletcher; several nieces; and a nephew. She was predeceased by her brother, Bernard J. Rozon; and an infant son, Scott Andrew Fletcher. FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will be Tuesday from 4 - 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday morning at 8:45 a.m. from the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home followed with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mark's Church with the Rev. John C. Salatino, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Henry W. Bishop III Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
