Louis J. Carpinello

1935 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Louis John Carpinello, 78, of 59 Highview Drive, formerly of North Adams, died Monday morning, March 10, 2014, at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown. He was born in Pittsfield on April 14, 1935, son of the late Louis and Anna Bedini Carpinello. He attended North Adams schools, and graduated from Drury High School. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the U.S. Army. Mr. Carpinello was a draftsman at General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for over 25 years, until retiring in 2000. He later worked part-time as a custodian at the Elks Lodge in North Adams. He had been a member of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church, the North Adams Lodge of Elks, and the Greylock Community Club, North Adams. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, boating, sports, and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. He is survived by a son, John Carpinello and his wife, Diane, of North Adams; a daughter, Wendy Zieba and her husband, Robert, of North Adams; three grandchildren, Jessica and Michael Carpinello and Krystal Zieba; his companion, Deborah Spring of Pittsfield, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie Bullett, on Feb. 3, 1992, and by his former wife, Kathleen McLear Carpinello, on Sept. 21, 2003. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Friday, March 14, at 9:45 a.m., from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
