1931-2012 NORTH ADAMS Louis James Casuscelli 80, of 25 Navajo Dr. North Adams, died Saturday November 3, 2012 at the North Adams Regional Hospital.
He was born in North Adams on December 22, 1931 a son of the late Louis and Margaret (Madigan) Casuscelli. He graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1951 where he won the state pole vaulting championship.
He was a decorated veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Marines and received the National Defense Service Medal. He was employed at the Berkshire Gas Co. and Massachusetts Electric Co. for several years. He was last employed for over 25 years at the US Postal Service in North Adams. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Church in North Adams. He was Past Commander and longtime member of the Frank R. Stiles Post #125 American Legion in North Adams. He also served as a deputy sheriff for Berkshire County and was a former member of WORMS
(We only ride motorcycles sober.) He enjoyed riding motorcycles and photography. He was formerly married to Elizabeth Racine. Survivors include two daughters Karen LaBombard and her husband Raymond of North Adams and Anne Reynolds and her husband Glenn of Adams, Three sons Michael Casuscelli and his wife Janet of Sheldon, Iowa, Steven Casuscelli and John Casuscelli both of North Adams. Eight grandchildren Jessica Johnson, Kim Greuel, Brittany LaBombard, Misty Casuscelli, R.J. LaBombard, John Casuscelli Jr., Joshua Casuscelli and Summer Casuscelli. Three great grandchildren Jayden, Jeffrey and Maurice.
He was predeceased by three sisters Elizabeth Casuscelli, Margaret Nadeau and Margaret Madigan.
FUNEARL NOTICE: A liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Full military honors will follow. Burial will take place at a later date.
