1943 - 2016 Mrs. Louise M. " Weezy " Hess Guyer, age 72, of 193 Elberon Ave. Pittsfield died Saturday morning, July 30?th? at the Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Pittsfield, Oct. 26, 1943, the daughter of the late Benedict and Alice E. Stone Hess. She attended the former St. Charles Grammar School and upon moving, attended Lenox Memorial High School. A waitress and food server most of her adult life, she worked at many of the most popular restaurants including the former Howard Johnson's, the old Rainbow Restaurant, the Busy Bee, Herman Alexander's, Jimmy's and then at the General Electric Co. for a short period of time, Returning to waitressing and for over 20 years, she was the mainstay behind the counter at the Highland Restaurant. She retired from there in Jan. of 2006. She enjoyed the beaches at Cape Cod as well as Hampton Beach. She loved to play cards and to play Bingo. An avid Red Sox fan, she did not miss a televised game including watching last Friday's night win over the Anaheim Angels in her final hours of life. Most of all, she enjoyed being with and being surrounded by her family and grandchildren. Louise also enjoyed getting dressed up as "Big Bird" while cheering on the many runners in the annual road race sponsored by Herman Alexander's throughout the 1980's. She is survived by her 3 sons, Denis Guyer and his wife, Melissa of Pittsfield and their three children, Charles, John and William. Edward Guyer and his wife Melissa Rife-Guyer of Greensboro, N.C. and their children; Benedict and Madeline. Jeffrey A. Guyer and his wife, Amy of Pittsfield, their daughter, Alexandra and Louise's step grand- children, Katarina and Christopher Gaylord. Her sister, Sue Zuber and her husband Charlie of Lenox, her aunt Evelyn Tyska of Pittsfield, her many cousins, and her two dear friends and neighbors, Shirley and Charlotte. Also, Louise leaves her cat Jenny Mae, who she took in and provided a loving home for many years. FUNERAL NOTICE: Guyer, Louise M. "Weezy " Hess, age 72, died July 30th. Calling hours at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will be WEDNESDAY from 4 to 7 with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 6:30 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held THURSDAY morning, Aug. 4th at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Church with the Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to either Elder Services of Berkshire County, or to the Berkshire Family YMCA in care of the funeral home
