Lucille and I grew up together in Shelburne when there were only 3 or 4 lst graders, if that many. She was always admired and looked up to. My best memory is playing house on their sun porch when we were very young. She will be sorely missed, but God needed her. Hope to see her again one day!!

This news is so unwelcome ~ Lucille was a fellow SHINE counselor, deeply loved & admired by all. When I think of her, I remember how completely 'present' & engaged she was in her interactions. I considered this a compliment; but it was intrinsic to her nature to care and only one facet of what made her the extraordinary person she was. Rest in peace, dear Lucille.

Lu will be remembered and missed by all, but particularly by her Shelburne Center friends and classmates who grew up with her in church group (CE), 4H, and on our school bus rides from Grammer thru HS into Shelburne Falls! A leader in every endeavor, she was always inspirational and a dear friend! Her family can take special pride in her exemplary life. Miss you Lu! God Bless! LTC Jordan May

On behalf of all my family, I extend condolences from the Francis and Helen Wells children to Lucille's family. Lucille and Jack were next door neighbors to our parents for many years, and were wonderful caretakers to them as they aged. We can't say enough good things about them, and I know all her former friends and neighbors in Cummington would agree. Lucille, you were one of a kind, and you will be sorely missed.
