1916 - 2016 Lucy Skok Geer, 100 yrs old of Pittsfield, Ma, died peacefully at home on Thomas Island on Onota Lake on September 1, 2016 shortly after celebrating or 100th birthday. She was born in Franklin, N.J on August 9, 1916, one of 9 children of John and Julia (Fabri) Skok. She was educated in The Franklin schools and attended business school in Newark, N.J. She moved to Pittsfield with her husband Milton U Geer over 60 years ago after living in New Jersey, Arkansas, Texas and New York State and their children. She worked as an executive secretary in New Jersey and later in Pittsfield after raising her 4 children. Mrs. Geer is survived by her daughters C. Marguerite Geer and Terrillyn A. Geer of Pittsfield, and her sons Jonathan M. Geer of Lowell, MA and his wife Mary Dayl Norton Geer, and Darrell E. Geer of Glendale, Ca. She also has 3 grandchildren, Kayla DiOrio and her husband Anthony, Lyndsay Hession and her husband Ricky and Nathan Geer. Mrs. Geer is predeceased by her husband Milton U. Geer and her 8 siblings including Joe, John Jim, Franz, Yolan, Elsie, Margaret and Julia. Mrs. Geer loved her cats and the wildlife and beauty of Onota Lake. She liked to travel and frequented the music and theatre venues of the Berkshires. An avid sports fan, she the loved her Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. She was a member of the Woman's Club, LOPA, and previous member of the Unitarian Church of Pittsfield. Many thanks and gratitude to the wonderful caregivers including Donna, Pam, Pat, Megan, Shirley, Mary, Melissa and Missy in the last 3 1/2 years providing continuous quality care and support. Hospice Care of the Berkshires were of tremendous help in the last several weeks of her life. Funeral Notice At Mrs. Geer's request there will be no funeral services. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lucy Geer's memory may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society or the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield, MA.
