Mabel A. Mazelli 1923 - 2012 PITTSFIELD Mabel A. (Valenti) Mazelli, 89, of 9 Fasce Place, Pittsfield, died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Berkshire Medical Center, surrounded in the loving presence of her family. She was born in Wilmington, VT on March 10, 1923, daughter of Joseph and Anita (Mercadante) Valenti. She and her family moved to Pittsfield in 1924 and she attended Pittsfield schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1940. She also attended the former Pittsfield Secretarial School. She was employed by General Electric as a ledger clerk for six years and Berkshire Gas Company for 19 years; she retired in 1983 as Head Cashier. She was a former communicant of All Souls Church. Her husband, Rudolph J. Mazelli, died on Feb. 7, 1997. They were married on Nov. 8, 1947, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Pittsfield. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Victoria Mazelli of San Diego, CA, a grandson, Ryan Mazelli of San Francisco, CA, several nieces, especially Beverly Smith and her husband, Tom, of Glenville, NY; also, several nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Gary Mazelli, who died in 1991; also predeceased by two sisters and two brothers: Josephine Culpo, Mary Ann Marston, Gene Valenti, and Richard Valenti. FUNERAL NOTICE: Private services for Mabel A. Mazelli will take place Thursday, April 19, 2012, at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker C.S.S., officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Plot at Pittsfield Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Elder Services of Berkshire County in care of the funeral home.
