Madeline A. Hickey

1926-2013 Madeline A. Hickey, 87, of Prospect Street in Lee, died peacefully Sunday with her family by her side. She was born in Glendale on November 8, 1926 the daughter of George and Dosolina Angelini Bartini. She was educated in the Lee Schools and was a 1944 graduate of Lee High School where she was class secretary. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church where she was a Lector, Eucharist Minister and a member of its Adoration Society. She was one of the founders of the Bingo program at St. Mary's School. Madeline enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and family gatherings at Cape Cod and shopping excursions. Her husband Gerard F. Hickey, whom she married May 18, 1948, died October 21, 2013. She leaves her four sons, Timothy F. Hickey of Becket, William G. Hickey and his wife, Teresa, of Waterford, NY, Terence J. Hickey and his wife, Victoria, of Southwick, MA, Patrick G. Hickey and his wife, Leslie, of Lee, and one daughter, Jane D. Sparks of Lee. She also is survived by her sister Jane E. Membrino and her husband George of Lee. Madeline also leaves fifteen grandchildren; Rebekah, Shannon, Carrie, Courtney, Sarah, Lauren, Emily, Amanda, Chris, Corey, Nathan, Casey, Sean, Matthew and Shane and eleven great-grandchildren; Collin, Molly, Kayla, Riley, Bailey, Chase, Madeline, Antonio, Abigail, Sophie and Amaya. She was pre-deceased by her brothers Alfred and George Bartini; her sisters Rena McCusker, Agnes O'Laughlin, and her son-in-law, Eric Sparks. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services for Madeline Hickey will be held Friday morning at 10:30 from the Kelly Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Mary's Church in Lee, MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will precede the service Friday morning from 9-10:30 at the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA 01238. Friends wishing may make memorial donations to St. Mary's School in care of the funeral home.
