1933 - 2012 PITTSFIELD Mrs. Margaret M. Amuso, 79, of 1 Crown Street, died Monday morning August 20, 2012 at the Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Schenectady, N.Y. on June 3, 1933, the daughter of the late John and Mary Philbin Holmes, Mrs. Amuso was a resident of Pittsfield most of her life. She was a 1951 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Prior to her marriage, she worked at General Electric Plastics and also modeled for the G.E. In the 1960's she worked at the former Robert Hall Clothing Store.

She was a communicant of St. Charles Church where she also taught CCD classes.

She is survived by her husband, Mark A. Amuso Sr., whom she married October 18, 1952 in St. Charles Church. Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Mark A. Amuso Jr. (Kathleen) of Pittsfield; three daughters, Deborah Rathbun (James) of Lanesborough, Peggy Pero and partner Stu of Westfield, Mass., Michele Barnard (Matthew) of Housatonic, Mass.; her loving grandchildren, Patrick, Lorraine, Rebecca, Richard, Mark, Erin, Tony, Justin, Trevor and Matthew; and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, James and John Holmes and a great-grandchild, Alex Ellsworth.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Mrs. Margaret M. Amuso of Pittsfield died Monday morning August 20, 2012. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 9 a.m. from the Dwyer Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Charles Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. A. Peter Gregory, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
