Margaret A. Galletly 1929-2012 PITTSFIELD Margaret A. Galletly, 82, of Rose Manor, 193 Elberon Avenue, Pittsfield, died Thursday, January 26, 2012, at her home. Born in Pittsfield on March 29, 1929, a daughter of Vincenzo and Filomena Abaticola Scorpa, she was a 1947 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Galletly was a homemaker. She had, at one time, worked for General Electric Company. She was an avid Red Sox fan who also had a great love for animals. Her greatest love was for her family. Mrs. Galletly leaves her husband, John F. Galletly, whom she married June 30, 1951. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lynn T. Galletly and her companion, Kevin Honicker, of Springfield, and Joan C. Wixsom and her husband, David, of Pittsfield; a sister, Mary Vergati, of Pittsfield; and six grandchildren, Mark, Stephanie, Bethany, Michael, Kali, and Jessica, and two great grandchildren, Skylar and Layla. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for Margaret A. Galletly will be held Tuesday, January 31, at 11 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Jonathan Reardon of Sacred Heart Church, officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Galletly may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
