1919 - 2015 NORTH ADAMS Marguerite Lucienne (Couture) Fournier, 96, died Thurs. December 24, 2015 at Williamstown Commons. She was born in North Adams, MA on November 27, 1919, daughter of Arthur and Adeline (Rougeau) Couture. She attended Holy Family Parochial School and graduated from the former Notre Dame High School. Marguerite was first employed at the Greylock Mill and was last employed by Cornish Wire in Williamstown for 15 years until her retirement in 1970. She was currently a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Church. Marguerite enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting and travel. She was devoted to her family. Marguerite's family would like to thank the staff of Williamstown Commons for their love, care and friendship. She was the widow of Adrien A. Fournier who died on May 6, 1983. They were married on May 30, 1940 Survivors include her three daughters, Laurette Desormeaux and her husband, David of Penhook, VA; Suzanne Johnson and her husband, Richard of North Pownal, VT and Alice Racette and her husband, David of North Adams. One son, Richard G. Fournier and his wife, Nancy of St. Cloud, FL, 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She also leaves nieces and nephews and her longtime friends, Rachel and Barbara Viens. She was predeceased by two daughters, Rita Guht in 2000 and Stella Beaudin in 2015 and two sons-in-law, Vincent Beaudin and William Guht. One sister and three brothers are also deceased including, Yvonne D'Amico, Gustave, Bernard and George Couture. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Marguerite Fournier will be celebrated Monday December 28, 2015 at 11a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA.
