Marilyn J. Linehan 1925 2011 PITTSFIELD Marilyn J. Maley Linehan, 86, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at Hillcrest Commons Nursing Home. She was born in Lynn, Mass., on February 25, 1925 to the late James and Ethel (Skelton) Maley. Marilyn attended schools in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School. She worked for the former ATT which became New England Telephone where she retired after many years of service. She was a longtime parishioner of the former St. Teresa's Church. She was a devoted Hockey mom and grandma and was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins and the Boston Red Sox. In her spare time, Marilyn enjoyed knitting for her children and grandchildren and tending to her African Violets. Her family was her life and she truly enjoyed spending time with them especially the family vacations to the Cape. Marilyn was predeceased by her loving husband, Walter C. Linehan, on December 3, 2000 after forty-nine years of marriage. She leaves on this earth, to cherish her memory, her two sons, Kenneth J. Linehan and his wife, Suzanne of Groveland, Mass., and Michael J. Linehan of Pittsfield; her three daughters, Gail A. Krom of Byfield, Mass., Janice M. Bates and her husband, John of Dalton and Judith C. Linehan of Pittsfield; her brother, Richard Maley and his wife, Rose of Maine; her five grandchildren, J. Justin and his wife, Erica, Joshua and his wife, Tara, Kristin, Meghan and Courtney and her three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jackson and Lily. She will also be sadly missed by her beloved canine friends, Baxter and Casey. FUNERAL NOTICE: There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Dalton. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. A calling hour will precede the Liturgy from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Devanny-Condron Funeral Home, 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in Marilyn's memory, to either the Home Instead Senior Care, 364 South St. Pittsfield, MA 01201 or to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave. 7th floor, New York, N.Y. 10001.
