Marion A. Owen

1932 - 2014 NORTH ADAMS Marion A. (Boni) Owen, 81, of Cutler Knoll, Watertown, Conn., died Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Smilow Cancer Center in Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Conn. Marion was born in North Adams on Sept. 11, 1932, daughter of Ceasar and Emma (Petri) Boni. She was raised and educated in Massachusetts and had lived in Watertown (CT) for many years. Well-known in the real estate business, she opened her own business, Westbury Realty, over 30 years ago. She was a member of the Watertown Republican Town Committee and a past member of the Watertown Housing Authority and the Westbury Women's Club. Marion enjoyed bridge and played regularly with "the girls." She loved the New York Yankees and took great pleasure in a Red Sox loss, but her greatest pleasure was her grandchildren. They were her life and she cherished every minute she spent with them. She leaves her son, Kevin W. Owen of Trumbull, Conn.; her daughter, Kristin Owen Kite and her husband, Peter, of Watertown, Conn.; two brothers, Joseph Boni of Williamstown, and Rudolph Boni of North Adams; three grandchildren, Bryce Owen, Emma Kite, and Lucy Kite, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Rose Boni, and by her brother, Richard Boni. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 11 a.m. at The Woodward Chapel, 25 The Green, Watertown, Conn. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the chapel. Burial of ashes will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, North Street, Watertown. Friends may call at Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown, on Friday, July 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Watertown Food Bank, c/o Social Services Dept., 61 Echo Lake Road, Watertown, CT 06795.
