Mark F. Carnevale

1949 - 2016 Mark Francis Carnevale (66) of Alexandria, VA passed away suddenly on 18 April 2016. Born in Pittsfield, MA, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Florence M. Carnevale, Mark grew up in Pittsfield, and was a 1967 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic Central High School. He also graduated from Villanova and George Washington University. Mr. Carnevale chose to serve his country for 31 years- 6 as an officer in the Marines retiring as a Captain and 25 years in management positions across the Central Intelligence Agency. After retiring in 2011 he became a certified personal trainer for the Fairfax County Rec Center and then opened his own studio in 2013. Mark was an avid practitioner of the martial arts, reaching the top levels in Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Tai Chi, and Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do. Mr. Carnevale also volunteered for Capital Caring Hospice and was a Fairfax County Auxilliary Police Officer. Mark is survived by his wife, Fran of Virginia, and a son, Matthew of North Carolina, his sister Celeste (MIchael) Perkins of Pittsfield and a brother-in-law Michael (Lisa) Lamarra of VA, along with 6 neices and 1 nephew. FUNERAL SERVICE: Relatives and friend may call at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, Alexandria, VA, on Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm. A mass of Christian Burial at St. Louis Catholic Church in Alexandria, on Monday at 10 am.
