Martha Clara Allard Choquette

1923-2014 NORTH ADAMS Martha Clara (Allard) Choquette, 90, of 68 Cherry Street North Adams, died Monday March 31, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in St. Jean de Richelieu, Quebec, Canada on July 4, 1923 daughter of the late Eusebe & Ida (Rancourt) Allard. She attended the Sacred Heart School in Quebec. She came to North Adams after her marriage. Martha was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was gifted artistically, and enjoyed oil painting for which she won several awards. She could master any task and also won an award for her quilting. Martha was an usher at Mass MoCA. She enjoyed following the genealogy of the Allard Family. Prior to her marriage she worked at the prestigious retail store in Montreal. Martha was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She was the widow of John H. Choquette who died on May 11, 2011. They were married November 11, 1946. She leaves one daughter, Carol Greenbush and her husband John of North Adams, one son John H. Choquette Jr. and his wife, Leticia Gaona of North Adams; four grandchildren, Danielle Horan of Williston, Vt., Sarah White of Cranston, RI, Peter Greenbush of North Adams, Alexis Choquette of North Adams; two grandchildren, Jadyn and Jordan Greenbush; one brother, Jean Allard of Canda and one sister, Jeannette Allard of Canada, and many nieces and nephews. Her son Peter Choquette died on August 27, 1967. She was also predeceased by six brothers and sisters including, Leo Allard, Andre Allard, Emile Allard, Romaine Allard, Magella Tremblay and Dolores Alaire. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Martha Choquette will be celebrated on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday morning from 9-10:30 AM at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS-CENTRAL CHAPEL 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247.
