Martha A. Sinico 1914-2012 Mrs. Martha A. Sinico, 97, of 455 Belcher Rd. South, Largo, Fla., died Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Hospice House Woodside in Pinellas Park, Fla. Born in Ware, Mass., on August 7, 1914, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary O'Neil Donnachie. Mrs. Sinico graduated from Commercial High School in Springfield, Mass. She lived in the Boston area for a short time and in New York City for five years before moving to Pittsfield where she resided for thirty years. Upon her retirement in 1972, she moved to Florida. She was employed as a tool maker for the General Electric Co. for thirty years. Martha was one of ten women in the United States who was a tool grinder. She taught herself Trigonometry for her job. Martha loved dancing and playing the horses. She was an avid fan of both the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays. When in Pittsfield she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Martha had some unique and interesting experiences during her life; she was the first person to ride the escalator in Macy's Department Store in New York City, she saw the first performance of the Rockettes and witnessed shootings of Mafia members. She felt her greatest achievement was having and bringing up their children. Her husband Marcel Sinico died June 25, 1990. Mrs. Sinico leaves two daughters, Marion Clifford (Mahlon) of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Judy Bellora (Richard) of Pittsfield and two sons, John Sinico (Beverly) of Southwick, Mass., and Thomas Sincio (Pat), a sister, Dorothy Sanborn Ferrell of Reno, N.V., a brother Edward (Barbara) Donnachie of Southwick, Mass., fifteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Martha was predeceased by a son Robert W. Sinico in 1995, a daughter-in-law Glenda Sinico in 1990, a grandson Mark J. Sinico in 2004 and a great grandson Garrett Bellora in 2006. Also, predeceased by her sisters, Mary Collette in 1948, Myrtle Courtney Northway in 1992 and Lillian Mansfield in 1997. FUNERAL NOTICE: Mrs. Martha "Marge" Sinico died January 11, 2012. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME. Calling hours will be at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday morning January 24, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service. Burial will follow in the Pittsfield Cemetery.
