Mary enjoyed day trips, including chaperoning trips from the Highland Park Playground to Riverside Park in Agawam. A horse back rider at the former Mickle's Grove on Cascade St., she most enjoyed competing and driving stock cars in the all-women's division, " The Powder Puffs" throughout the 1960's at Lebanon Valley Speedway. She would be survived by three sons, Kendall W. Barnes and his wife, Linda, and Kevin W. Barnes and his wife, Tarri, both of Pittsfield, and Keith W. Barnes and his partner, Lori Fox, of Bowling Green, Ky. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Mark W. Barnes, Shay A. Barnes, Kelly A. Barnes, Kris W. Barnes and Andrea L. Burchett as well as three great-grandchildren. Another son, Kreg W. Barnes, "Mouse" died at the age of 23, in August of 1985.
