Mary Bergeron
1944 - 2014 GREENFIELD Mary M. Bergeron, age 95, passed away on Oct. 23, 2014 at the Buckley Health Care Center in Greenfield after a brief illness. She was born and brought up in North Adams, the daughter of Frank and Antoinette Cariddi. She was married to Greenfield native Arthur T. Bergeron on June 10, 1944 at Saint Anthony's Church in North Adams with Father Rocco DeLorenzo officiating. Her husband of 61 years predeceased her on May 3, 2005. Mary's survivors include her children: John Bergeron and his wife, Catherine of Wareham, Theresa Coyne and her husband, Richard of Walpole, and Dr. Stephen Bergeron and Jacqueline Bimbatti of Holliston, four grandchildren: Katherine and Mariah Bergeron and Matthew and Ryan Coyne. Mary's immediate family includes: Joseph Cariddi and wife, Rose of North Adams, Jo Ann Maselli and late husband, Reno of Clarksburg, Jennie Tamasi and husband, Leonard of Schenectady, N.Y.; Katherine Mogovaro and late husband, Philip of Pittsfield and Frances Brown and late husband, Fritz of Georgetown. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Anne DeMeo, and brothers; James, Ralph, Patrick, Dominic and Patsy all of North Adams. Mary was a tuberculosis survivor after a lengthy hospitalization at the Haydenville Sanitarium in Williamsburg where she met her future husband. She resided in Greenfield since her marriage and was a long time employee of Wilson's Department Store. Her life revolved around her family which she loved so much. She had a love for the arts including doing watercolors and received several ribbons at the Franklin County Fair. Mary enjoyed walking, aerobics, gardening, bowling, cooking, homemaking and the outdoors. She was an active participant at the Greenfield Senior Center frequently marching in various community parades and a member of the Moose Club. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and member of the Rosary Sodality. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday Oct. 29, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. Timothy J. Campoli officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield. Calling hours will be held Tuesday evening from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, 182 High Street, Greenfield, MA 01301 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
