Mary S. Dawson

1941 - 2015 DALTON Mary S. Dawson, 73, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on December 30, 1941, the daughter of Bernard and Dorothy Reed Reu, she was a 1960 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Mary worked for many years as an Archway Cookie Company distributor, making many friends. She later worked part-time at Joann Fabric helping many seamstresses out of a bind. She recently retired to be a full-time grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her four daughters, Patricia Brandi and her husband, Vinnie, Rosalee Lampro and her husband, Jim, Nancy Nichols and her husband, Joe, and Wendy Kowalczyk and her husband, Dave; a sister, Kathy Breen and her husband, Victor; eight granddaughters; Jennifer and Jessica Brandi, Emily and Hannah Osthoff, Paige and Kiliegh McGann, Madelyne and Allyson Kowalczyk, three grandsons; Tim Kowalczyk, Joe Nichols, and Tyler Lampro. Three great-grandchildren; and three nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Daniel Reu. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mary S. Dawson will be Friday, October 16, 2015, at 10:30a.m. from the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11a.m. at St. Charles Church celebrated by the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor. Private burial will be at a later date. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday morning prior to the service from 8:30 to 10:30a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, in her memory.
