Mary Elda (Peat) Farinon

1928 - 2015 NORTH ADAMS Mary Elda (Peat) Farinon, 87, of 40 Sperry Ave. died Monday March 9, at North Adams Commons. She was born in North Adams, on Jan. 18, 1928, daughter of Henry and Caroline (Ranger) Peat. She attended local schools and graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School with the class of 1945. Mary first worked at Sprague Electric Co. for 34 years. She was last employed by the City of North Adams at the City Hall for 25 years until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She was the widow of Edward Leo "Fiock" Farinon who died on July 13, 2002. They were married on June 6, 1946. Survivors include one daughter, Deborah Isbell of Acushnet, Mass.; and one son, Edward A. Farinon of Acushnet, Mass. She also leaves four grandchildren including, Carol Bentz of Adams, Chilli Moulton of Shrewsbury, Mass., and Maria Farinon and Jeff Isbell, both of Acushnet, Mass.; and four great-grandchildren including, Samantha Moulton, Max Moulton, Katie Bentz, and Joe Bentz; and one sister, Joan Tetreault of North Adams; and nieces and nephews. Two brothers and three sisters are deceased including, William Peat, Richard Gallagher, Margaret Jurczyk, Betty Whitmore, and Rita Clermont. Mary's family would like to thank the staff of the North Adams Commons for the excellent care they gave to Mary. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday March 13, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be in the spring in Southview cemetery. There are no calling hours.
