Mary B. Fontana

1941 - 2016 Mrs. Mary B. Fontana, 74, formerly of 125 River Birch Lane, Dalton, MA died Thursday June 2, 2016 at Springside Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center. She was born in Pittsfield on December 14, 1941 a daughter of the late Edmund T. and Mary (McCarty) Bercury. She attended Pittsfield Schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1959 and then attended the College of St. Rose, Albany NY. Mary was employed by the General Electric Co., Ordnance Division for 30 years and retired in 1991. She was a member of the General Electric Quarter Century and Pensioners Clubs and was a communicant of St. Agnes Church. Mary enjoyed wintering in Florida. She was the widow of Emil J. Fontana who died on January 14, 2013 and they were married on December 2, 1967. Survivors include her brother Charles A. Bercury of Pittsfield and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, her sisters-in-law Claire I. Bercury, Rita Fontana and Donna L. Bercury. She was predeceased by her brother Edmund T. Bercury Jr. and her sister Barbara B. Quinlan. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mary B. Fontana will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Agnes Church, 489 Main St., Dalton, MA. celebrated by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor. Entombment will take place in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum in St. Joseph's Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Calling Hours at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield MA will be Saturday, June 4, from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M.
