Mary Healy Obituary
Mary Ann Haddad Healy

Mary Ann (Haddad) Healy died peacefully at home, on Monday, May 27, 2013. She was the daughter of George L. and Freda Haddad. Raised in Pittsfield, she was a 1962 graduate of St Joseph's High School. Her days at St. Joe were among the happiest of her youth.

Mary Ann recently helped to coordinate her classes' 50th reunion. She truly enjoyed reconnecting with her classmates. Mary Ann attended the University of Bridgeport, but her life's work was as a mother and homemaker.

She was predeceased by her husband, James H. Healy in 2011. They were married on January 3, 1969 and had their first of four daughters in 1970. Together, they raised their family in Lenox, but returned to Pittsfield in 1999.

Mary Ann leaves her "girls": Karen Crofts and her husband Jeffery, of Pittsfield; Susan Healy and her husband Ted Frederick of Lenox; Michele Guercio and her husband Roy of Saugus; and Jennifer Healy---"her favorite," of Pittsfield. She was an adoring grandmother or "Sitto" to Jackson Frederick, Abigail Crofts, and Nathan Guercio; she also took great joy in the addition of her two new grandsons: Alexander Crofts and Lucas Guercio. She relished being a grandmother, and loved having all her girls together.

Although her loss was unexpected, her family is comforted by knowing she spent her final weekend with her family all together in celebration. Mary Ann also leaves her brother, Louis G. Haddad. Her nephew and niece: George Haddad and Elizabeth Sheehan and their families. Her nephew and niece: Shaun Mackie and Christine Reilly and their families. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Judith Bossidy, and her family all of Florida.

She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Regina Mackie in 1996.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral mass for Mary Ann was held at St Joseph's Church on May 31, 2013. The family is thankful to all who were in attendance, and to those who contributed to St. Joseph's Scholarship Fund or Berkshire Humane Society in Mary Ann's honor.

Mary Ann firmly believed one should remember the good times, not the bad. With this in mind, her family plans a celebration of her life on her birthday, July 20th. Interment of her ashes will take place at 10:30 a.m. at St Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield. A reception for all who knew and loved Mary Ann will take place at Mazzeo's Restaurant following the service.
