Mary G. Gasperini Mahoney

1920-2013 CANAAN, CT Mary G. (Gasperini) Mahoney, 92, of 55 Clayton Rd. left on her heavenly journey early Wednesday afternoon on August 7, 2013.

Mary was born in Winsted, CT on November 13, 1920, daughter of the late John and Theresa (Tornige) Gasperini. She was the wife of the late William J. Mahoney. Mary worked as a bookkeeper and was employed for much of her working life by the former Watta-Crete Company in Canaan. She was a graduate, of one of the last classes, from the former Canaan High School.

Mary was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Canaan, and was one of the founding members of the Daughters of Isabella of St. Joseph's Church. Mary's great passion was for her church, her faith, and her family.

Those left to celebrate her life are Michael Mahoney and his companion Barbara Schmitt of Vernon, CT., and Patrick Mahoney and his wife Kim of Ashley Falls, MA, as well as two grandchildren: Maureen Mahoney of Middletown, CT and Erin Mahoney of Ashley Falls, MA. Mary is also survived by her two brothers: Daniel Gasperini of East Canaan, CT and Peter Gasperini of Paducah, KY, as well as by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers John and Pietro Gasperini, and her two sisters Josephine Perotti and Elizabeth Sondrini.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday in St. Joseph's Church, 4 Main St., North Canaan, CT 06018 at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, North Canaan, CT. There are no calling hours. At Mary's request there will be no procession from the funeral home. Memorial donations may be sent to Saint Joseph's Church, 4 Main St., Canaan, CT 06018.
