Mary N. Mele Mancivalano

1920-2013 Mrs. Mary N. Mancivalano 92, formerly of 176 Columbus Avenue, (Berkshire Town Apts) Pittsfield, died Sunday January 13, 2013 at the Emeritus of Bonita Springs in Bonita Springs, Fla.

She was born in Pittsfield, on March 25, 1920 a daughter of the late Joseph and Nora (Teti) Mele. She attended Pittsfield Schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1938.

She was employed by the City of Pittsfield for 16 years as Assistant Tax Collector and retired in 1981. While living in Pittsfield she was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and had been a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and a member of its Ladies Guild and was very active at the Mt. Carmel Church Lawn Party & Annual Bazaar and for many years volunteered at Bingo at the former Mt. Carmel Church Parish Center. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, cooking, bingo, and enjoyed going to the Casino's in Connecticut and spending time with her family.

She was the widow of Joseph Mancivalano Sr. who died on December 5, 1999 and they were married on May 3, 1941.

Survivors include one son, Joseph Mancivalano Jr., and his wife, Gail of Estero, Florida, one daughter, Patricia Asci and her husband Anthony of Estero, Florida, two grandchildren, Mitchell Mancivalano and Johanna Mancivalano, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, three brothers and two sisters, Colette Belanger, Joseph, Nicholas, Patrick Mele, Philomena Albano, Katherine Quaglietti.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will take place Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA. 01201 A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Pittsfield with the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker C.S.S. officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, January 22, from 9 a.m. To 10 a.m.
