1914 - 2016 Mrs. Mary "Molly" (Belanger) Viens, 102, died on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Springside Nursing Home in Pittsfield. She was born in North Adams on February 20, 1914, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Crockwell) Belanger. She grew up in Florida, MA and was the oldest of six children. She married the late Arthur Viens, Sr. on May 30, 1930. She worked at the former Berkshire Hathaway Mill, Brightwater Paper Co., and Waverly Fabrics. Mary and her husband raised their two sons, the late Arthur J. Viens and Robert Viens, in their family home of Friend Street in Adams. She enjoyed canning vegetables from their family garden and spending time with her grandchildren, Jennifer Viens, Nicole Viens Elser, Beth Viens Pause, Hayley Viens Dunham and Daniel Viens. She later moved to the Mill House Apartments where she enjoyed spending time with her many friends. She is survived by her two daughter-in-laws, Rose Marie Ancora Viens and Rena Viens, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, Molly Elser, Sophie Elser, Sara Elser, Austin Viens DeRuisseau, Lucy Viens DeRuisseau, Cameron Dunham, Evan Dunham and Dominick Pause. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Belanger and his wife, Ann of North Adams. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Wilfred, Francis and Thomas Belanger and by one sister, Natalie Roach. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 15, at 10a.m. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, McKinley Square, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Sunday from 2 to 4p.m. at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, MA 01220.
