Michael C. Allessio 1919 - 2009 PITTSFIELD Mr. Michael C. Allessio, 90, years old, of 170 Longview Terrace, died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center of injuries involving a two car accident on Dalton Ave., in Pittsfield. He was born in Pittsfield, on March 8, 1919, son of Michael and Delfina (Allessio), Allessio. He attended Pittsfield Schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1937 and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, with an associate degree in Agriculture and also took courses at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. He was employed for 25 years at the family owned Brattlebrook Farm and then was employed by the General Electric Company in the Power Transformer Department for 15 years and retired in 1984, and the worked part time for Perfex Optical in Pittsfield for four years. He was a former communicant of All Soul's Church and now a member of Sacred Heart Church. During the War Years he was a Blood Donor. He leaves his wife, the former Stella F. Krisniski, whom he married Nov. 15, 1944; three sons, Michael J. Allessio, and his wife, Carol, of Peachtree City, Ga., Robert M. Allessio, and his wife, Coleen, of Dalton, James M. Allessio, and his wife, Karen, of Parker, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Timothy, Ryan, Kaitlin, Courtney, Jared Allessio and Megan Duquette. He was predeceased by a grandson, Chad Allessio and by six brothers, Ferdinand, Eugene, Henry, John, Mario, William Allessio; and six sisters, Dimera Marchisio, Josephine Testa, Norma Balardini, Emma Principe, Sister Mary Camilla Allessio, Anna Carnevale. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at 8 a.m., from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker C.S.S., officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, June 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Chad Allessio Scholarship Fund, in care of the funeral home.
